Diet: the Kiwiare Worms, Spiders, fruit, Frogs and Eels

The kiwi is a highly territorial animal and will protect its habitat from others.

Female kiwisare larger than males.

Kiwis have 4 toes each of which has alarge claw.

The 5 species of kiwis named the Great Spotted, Little Spotted, Okarito Brown, Tokoeka and the North Island Brown Kiwi.

The name "kiwifruit" (aka Chinese gooseberry) comes from the kiwi.

The Maori believe that kiwiare under the protection of Tane Mahuta the god of the forest

The Kiwi is listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as 'endangered'
