Fat Sak

FatSak Beanbag – the beanbag without the beans. We make what is possibly the most luxurious and comfortable beanbag on the planet. That is no over exaggeration either. At international trade fairs, our beanbag comes out tops. The question of course is why? We do not use beans in our “beanbags”. We do not use scrap foam or shred foam either, which is what some of our “Chinese” and other “Overseas” friends use. No, we use locally manufactured 100% virgin polyurethane foam. It’s not cheap, but it is supremely comfortable. And it lasts – you will not need to refill your beanbag, ever!

Local is indeed lekker – we make FatSak for the South African market where quality is more important than quantity. FatSak is handmade in Cape Town with the utmost care taken to make sure you receive the best quality beanbag at the most reasonable prices. So we have a challenge for you and your tushy – go sit in a FatSak beanbag and try not to smile...go on try it, we dare you :-)

Feral Children

A feral child is a human child who has lived isolated from human contact from a very young age, and has no (or little) experience of human care, loving or social behavior, and, crucially, of human language. Some feral children have been confined by people (usually their own parents); in some cases this child abandonment was due to the parents’ rejection of a child’s severe intellectual or physical impairment. Feral children may have experienced severe child abuse or trauma before being abandoned or running away. Others are alleged to have been brought up by animals; some are said to have lived in the wild on their own. Just over one hundred incidents have been reported in total, here we enumerate 10 of them who got famous in their own times.

Fifty Things Everyone Should Know

Self-reliance is a vital key to living a healthy, productive life.  To be self-reliant one must master a basic set of skills, more or less making them a jack of all trades.  Contrary to what you may have learned in school, a jack of all trades is far more equipped to deal with life than a specialized master of only one.

While not totally comprehensive, here is a list of 50 things everyone should know how to do.

Flying Monkey Travel Awards

I have had quite a few people ask me where I hear about travel activities and hotels. Well, there is no single answer. I get a lot of information just asking questions of my well-traveled friends and then researching the locations online. I also read magazines like Time Out and Budget Travel. For example I just read about the Torre Hotel Guelfa in Florence for 0 per night. The hotel has a tower that was built in the 13th century, and there is a bar on top – YES AND YES. When I see cool places/activities/ restaurants like that, I cut the article out and sort them by country. Then, using my Elmer’s School Glue, I paste the snippets into my travel notebook like such. Read more by visiting my blog or click here.
