Joburg Tourism Focuses On Brics Countries
A unique evening networking function was held at the Taste Buds Cook Club in Randpark Ridge, where hosts and guests tried their hand at cooking some signature South African dishes.
“We were delighted to partner with the Brand South Africa team to welcome this diverse group of journalists to Joburg and to showcase our city’s vibrancy, diversity and stature as one of the African continent’s leading destinations,” she said.
Joburg Tourism’s BRICS marketing initiatives included participating in the recent series of SAT trade workshops in China in June 2012, as well as the SAT Roadshow to Brazil and Argentina and the On Show Roadshow to Russia, both at the end of August.
“The BRICS grouping remains a national strategic priority for South Africa in terms of forging trade relations and attracting investment and tourism – and the country’s membership of the grouping is certainly paying off in terms of increased tourism arrivals,” she continued.
